Chris is so right. Nothing worse than reading FB posts and thinking, “Gosh, and I really wanted to like you.”

Gotta love when kids can see the parallels, especially when it’s something I myself have missed. I think we become used to a thing and it’s harder for us to see past it, which is probably at least part of the problem with those ig’nant bigots too. We are all guilty of it sometimes, but some of us are more willing than others to think “I *could* be wrong about this.”

One of the downsides of FB is that some people from my childhood have sort of ruined my memory of them by growing up to become the kind of people that think Glen Beck is telling them the truth.

I loved your “Where I’m From” poem. I think it is a really good exercise to do every year, as the concept of where youa re from changes as you change. My daughter did this, and I saved it, and at the end of thisyear of homeschooling I am going to have her write another one.
